Inverloch Surf Beach
163 Surf Parade, Inverloch
Inverloch Surf Beach is a sweeping 1.8 km stretch of golden sand facing south-east into Anderson Inlet, ideal for swimming, surfing, and family fun. Protected by offshore reefs, it offers calm, beginner-friendly waves and is patrolled by the Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club during peak times making it one of Victoria’s safest surf spots.
Facilities are excellent: there's parking, toilets, cold-water showers, picnic tables, BBQs, change rooms, and wheelchair access via a ramp at the Surf Lifesaving Club entrance. Lifeguard flags mark the safer swimming zone, but be aware of occasional strong rips and shore-breaks always swim between the flags
This beach is a hub for community events, surf lessons through the Surf Club, fishing along tidal flats, kitesurfing, and serene evening walks that capture breathtaking sunsets over the inlet. Cafés, shops, and the pier are just footsteps away, making it convenient for a full day of coastal enjoyment.

Shack Bay

Shack Bay is a hidden gem just a short drive from Inverloch, offering visitors a serene and less crowded beach experience. Inverloch Pier
The Esplanade in Inverloch
Inverloch Pier (often called the Inverloch Jetty) is a charming timber structure extending into the serene Anderson Inlet, nestled right off The Esplanade in Inverloch. It’s a beloved spot for a range of experiences from early morning strolls and romantic sunsets to lively fishing sessions offering panoramic views and a relaxing coastal escape
First built around 1909 to support coal shipments, the original jetty shifted slightly inland in 1956 due to silting and was later rebuilt in 1999, when the current pier structure with its adjoining boat ramp and enhanced parking was completed recently.
Historically, it’s been the site of community events like regattas and even beauty pageants “Miss Inverloch” during the 1920s and 1930s. Today, the pier is a magnet for anglers, boaters, photographers, kayakers, paddleboarders, and families enjoying marine life like stingrays visible through rail panels

Anderson Inlet Beach in Inverloch is a stunning, shallow estuary at the mouth of the Tarwin River, forming an almost enclosed bay of turquoise waters and soft sand—ideal for families, paddlers, and beachcombers. The inlet comprises three sandy beaches stretching along the foreshore, backed by grassy dunes and coastal reserves, all with convenient parking and amenities.

Screw Creek Nature Walk

The Screw Creek Nature Walk in Inverloch is a tranquil and family-friendly trail winding 2–2.5 km through coastal tea-tree forest, saltmarsh, and mangroves starting from the Inverloch Foreshore Camping Reserve car park at the far end of The Esplanade The well-maintained boardwalks lead across Screw Creek via a charming bridge, and from a spur you can reach fishing platforms or head uphill to the Townsend Bluff lookout, where sweeping views over Anderson Inlet.

Ocean Rockpool Cape Paterson

The Cape Paterson Ocean Pool is a beloved coastal feature located at Cape Paterson Bay Beach, along Surf Beach Road, near the boat ramp. This man-made rock pool was constructed in the 1960s by miners and has since become a popular spot for families and visitors seeking a safe and tranquil swimming experience.
The pool is naturally replenished by the tides, offering clear, calm waters ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and observing marine life. It's especially popular during warmer months, providing a sheltered environment for both relaxation and exploration. Nearby, you'll find the Cape Paterson Caravan Park, offering convenient access to the beach and pool .
